A little indulgence......
Sometimes, I guess, it is fun to splurge. With my husband, it is his country club membership and new golf club a year. With me, I'd have to say Coach sunglasses and purses. This is my latest indulgence and I love it. I try to rationalize this purchase, as it will definitely last me a few years. Unfortunately reality sets in, and I know I'm not kidding anyone, as I will likely find another that will catch my eye! Anyway, I'll enjoy for now! Well, it is a good thing that my insurance pays for my Coach sunglasses ;)

Old pics again....
I had mentioned in earlier posts that our ducks come closer to us after they feel comfortable with us. Here is a picture from five years earlier showing how they are almost up to the back door. My husband could almost feed them by hand. I don't know why we get so excited about our ducks, but we do!!! I always say it is just the simple things!

Like father, like son........
My son has taken a liking to golf and we couldn't be happier. This is a sport that will last him a lifetime, as he will play with friends, family and possibly co-workers. My husband is so happy because this is an interest they can share and spend great quality time together. These shots are pictures of him during a golf match for school. It was great because they hold a few matches at the country club in which we are members. The pics are from one recent match held there. OK.............. I just have to add this............fore!!!!!

It is hard to forget...
This was my baby Turcoin. Actually it was my son's cat. We picked him out on my son's 7th birthday. He named him Turcoin for his turquoise colored eyes and orange for his nice coat of fur...thus Turc-oin..the two sort of blended together. We had to put this cat to sleep one year ago today and it was the worst circumstances. It was his 7th birthday exactly! I had taken him to a vet two weeks prior because of a urinary track infection. He had them so bad that one time he was completely blocked and we had to pay $975.00 to unblock him. He suffered from urinary problems always. Anyway, this vet (our regular one suggested him because she was on spring vacation) prescribed him diazapam to help relax his urinary muscles. Usually this med is used to treat seizures in cats. It was so strong, Turcoin hated it and acted funny on it. I called the vet a few days after he started it and they reassured me to keep him on it just 1/2 the dose. Sad thing is that a very small percentage of cats can't tolerate this drug and it destroys their liver. It was so toxic to his liver that he went fast! It was hard to watch him suffer. As I posted below, we had put Ginger down five days earlier. It was one sad time for the Ditto household!!! We miss you Turcoin. We all reflected today on what we liked best about him, it would have to be how he played hide and seek and chased us through the house if we ran. I loved his playful personality!

I haven't forgotten you Ginger...

It was exactly one year ago today that I had to put my faithful friend Ginger down. She was 18 years old and was my baby. She played fetch like a dog, and was so loving. She wasn't feeling well and the vet found (after a $500.00 bill), that she was failing in so many ways, arthritis, kidney failure and heart problems. Boy, that was a tough decision. I still miss her. She was the sweetest cat. She slept next to me every night without failure. I am just fortunate that I had her for a good 18 years. I still remember the time when my husband and I got married and he started to share the bed with me also, she was so mad she nipped at his toes all night trying to let him know...she's mine, not yours!!

Oh, those summer days........
With days like today, it seems summer might not be too far off (it's 63 out today)!!! These are photos, from last summer, of my son with some friends over for a day of fun in the pool. I love days like that! He is home, I know where he is, I get to know his friends better and I get to dote on everyone (always the hostess!). I'll bake cookies, grill out or buy pizza, pop and chips. We put some Bose speakers out back with a nice receiver so we can listen to music while we entertain. It is such a nice set up back there. I have 8-10 flower planters, 4 hanging baskets, a fire pit for the summer nights, Tikki lanterns surrounding the pool area and seating for 12. We usually have my hubby's family over quite a bit. I am so glad my son can enjoy it though.

I think my husband enjoys being a part of my son's parties too!! He is the one in the front, he usually will stand in the shallow end and flip my sons friends in the air.

Colton with his girlfriends, he was dating the blonde, Sophie (what a nice girl), but a Senior guy came and swept her off her feet! Maybe it's cause he can drive and has a car (just a thought).
Here is Adam doing a flip!!!
It usually is an all day affair, well into the night. I am thankful he enjoys being home with us, some of his friends are never home or don't like being at home (that is sad to me).
So........... hurry up summer so we can open the pool.

If only he could go pro.....
Well, what a round of golf, or should I say 5 rounds, since last Saturday can do for a man!! He has been one happy puppy lately. He loves the game and would go pro if he could.

Today his boss came and said, "lets golf this afternoon", who wouldn't love a job where you can take off and golf and still get paid for it!! They tend to do that quite a bit in the summer, not to mention his regular golf league on Thursdays when they take off at noon (they are partners on the league).
Well, he's been after me to take up the game so we can play Friday Night Couples at our club. I used to play when I was in high school, but could find better ways to spend 4 hours. Hummmm, I guess I'll give in....a talented teacher......good looking to boot.........what's not to like? I guess that just means less shopping time for me :(
