Lazy Scholar....

It is Spring Break and I want to go, do, have fun and of course shop!!!
I mention the word shop to my son, and this is the response I get :(
Even Mason tried to coax him for me. He said he was tired from studying for finals. He did great again...two A+'s and the rest solid A's!!! He got an A+ in his hardest class (college prep), Biology!!!

Well, all I had to do was wait for my husband to get home with his Charger, and my son perked right up!! Maybe because all you have to do is mention 'do you want to drive', and he's good to go!!!

My husband is sharing his car very well, I am quite impressed!!

Back again...

My husband had just gotten back from golfing (again!) and I had just returned from visiting my parents. We were catching up on each others day, when all of a sudden we heard all this loud quacking. You'd of thought there were 10 ducks out back, but no just our two back again today for another feeding. I guess they were letting us know they were there and wanted to eat!! My husband missed them yesterday and was eager to feed them, as he awaits their arrival like me!!

Our ducks are back!!!!

Every year since we have been in our home we have had ducks come land in our pool. We have made it a tradition to go feed our friends every year. Well, they came back today and my son went out to feed them. They didn't come up close this time, but after a few feedings, they will come closer.

We always get one male and one female, and if you ask us, they are the same ones from the year before!! This usually means that warmer weather in near!!

Of course Jade wants some of the action and she is watching intently their every move! She shared the window with my son.

Trying to keep the tradition...

I found this old picture of my son dying eggs for Easter. I tried so hard to keep the tradition this year, but I am afraid that once he hit high school, it's just not 'cool' anymore :( I will keep trying though. I really don't want to wait until I have grandchildren, that will be another 10 years or so if I have my say!! Not that I don't want them, I just want him to finish college first. This makes me laugh as I remember one year when I asked him if the Easter Bunny was going to come, and he said "I know he will mom because I have my Bunny Ears on" (he used to wear these ears that were like a head band every year at Easter time). We have that one on video and it is fun to watch!!

Are you gonna share?

My son was eating some Mint M&M's and Mason was intrigued by the mint scent in the bag and wanted some...... NOW!! We let him have the bag afterword and he got his mint fix in for the day!
This cat is my lovable goofball, he is always wanting to play "tag" with me. Running up and swatting me in the legs and running off looking back as to say 'come get me now', I love this cat so much!

Sometimes it's just the simple things......

When we first brought Jade home I had bought tons of fun things for her to play with and keep her interested, but I find out she could care less. She would rather find her own toys and fun. This cat is so cute and has a personality all her own, sort of a diva princess at times. Here she is with my hubby playing with the ring off a milk carton (one of her favorite toys of choice).

If only they stayed little a while longer....

I have been feeling a bit nostalgic
lately as I am thinking my son will be leaving the nest
in a few years, that is if he follows his dreams of becoming a plastic surgeon and doing mission work.

I just wish these years had lasted longer. The time when they are full of innocence, curiosity and wonder; ready to soak up all their world has to offer, and the never ending questions of "why"?

He has been my everything since the day he came into my life. He has become the most compassionate and caring young man. I am so lucky God chose me to be the mother of this great young man!!

Meet Jade....

This is Jade with Mason, she loves to sleep right next to him and snuggle. If he is sleeping comfortably, she will move him over and move right in.

This picture below is my husbands favorite one of her. He was the one that brought her home one day last June. A co-worker of his had 6 kittens and kept asking him if we would like one. As soon as he saw a picture of her, he was smitten. He loves this cat so much. She talks to him every morning as soon as she sees him. She will jump up on the bathroom counter just to be next to him as he gets ready in the morning.

This one is the first day we brought her home, she was 8 weeks old. So fluffy and cute. She has this walk to her, sort of a prissy little step.

She loves to play and after all the toys we bought we find that she loves the rings off the milk and orange juice cartons best. Her favorite thing to do is chase after golf balls as my husband tries to put them in a cup. She will bat them away and make him miss every time, the little stinker!!

Good things come in small packages

Here is my Mason, he was found on my school's daycare playground on May 1st last year (I teach at an Alternative School). The lady that runs the daycare came to me with this little 2-3 week old kitten and said, "I think this kitten was meant for you". I had just lost two cats within one week. Ginger who was 18 had to be put to sleep on April 13th and Turcoin who was 7 years old had a bad reaction to diazepam, a medication a vet had prescribed. It was toxic to his liver and he went into acute liver failure, it was so sad. He was put to sleep on April 18th (his birthday) and it was so hard on me. I think I cried everyday for two weeks. Well, Mary felt strongly that I was the one to take this kitten. She was right. We (my husband and I) hand raised little Mason from a bottle. He was so cute.

This is after 4 weeks, he is full of curiosity and exploring everywhere.
Fast asleep after a good feeding.
He is the most affectionate cat I have owned, and I have had 3 so far in my lifetime.
We have our ritual every night when I sit down to read he curls up in my lap and nudges my hand to keep petting him. I am lucky this cat happened my way!!

Fun to look back.....

I was recently going through photos at my father's to make my mom a DVD of her life for Mother's Day. I came across these pics of my sister, brother and I. We were and still are very close. I am so glad for my upbringing and the value of family that was instilled. Mom and Dad you have done well..................

The beauty of spring/summer.....

With the sun shinning and the green grass poking through, I get excited for spring and my perennials to start budding. I really love spring and summer. I go overboard and plant tons of planters around my pool. Since the age of two my son has had his special planter, and he chooses what goes in his. I know that means lots of watering, but I love just before sun down to water and tend to my flowers. I find this a good time to think and reflect about life. Come on and hurry up warmer weather...........

Oh no, it's drivers training time....

My son is "stoked" to start drivers training this
Monday. After two weeks he gets a card for us
to log miles we drive with him in our supervision,
in our vehicles. Oh no....I don't know if either
my husband or I are ready to relinquish sole autonomy
of our cars. I know my husband is a little worried about
sharing his "baby". He is so proud of his Dodge Charger Hemi R/T.

Below is my "eager beaver" student driver counting
the hours, minutes and seconds until Monday.
He can't wait to get behind the wheel of the Charger!

Purple, grey and black themed fun!!

Well, here I go again bragging about my
handsome, well liked son. He just got home and
showed me some of the shots he took at a dressy
party of a friends 16th birthday.

Here he is with the girls vying for his attention.

I am so glad his first year of high school is going so well!!
He is doing so good, 4.0 GPA and having the time of his life.
God blessed me with such a great son!!
