Daily ritual........

There is not a day that goes by where I don't snap a picture or two of one of our cats. To me they are just so adorable when they look a certain way, or lay a particular way. I have over a thousand pics of just the cats. I guess that is what happens when you only have one child. I will just look forward to the day when I have grandchildren frolicking about! You know, at 47 you start thinking about those things. But, I have a good ten years before that should happen!
Until then............

Busy bees................

Lately, each time I have gone to take pics of my flowers, there seems to be a bee present. I have learned if you try to get too close, they will dart out at you. Luckily, I have not been stung...........yet!!

I loved this first little guy....he was all covered in powdery pollen from the flower!

Better not press my luck.....I am likely to get stung right on the end of my nose or something, and what a sight that would be!!!

Time of his life.........

My dear father turned 81 today! For his gift, my sister, brother-in-law and I took him to a Detroit Tigers game last Thursday. He was like a young boy, so excited.

First stop was to see the field where his favorite football team plays, the Detroit Lions. He wanted to get a souvenir from both places. We bought him a Lions hat and a Tiger's key chain. I had bought him the hat and shirt he wore to the game that day.

I thought those tiger head statues were cool.

The excitement really began past this entrance.

Best of all, that grin remained throughout the day!

He loved listening to this man, Ernie Harwell, as he announced the Tiger games when he was younger.

Finally, the seats, and he just kept a grinnin'.

He wanted me to capture Leyland, the Tiger's manager.

and........the pitcher John Porcello,

and...........Cabrera (the best batter for Detroit....according to my father).

He even got excited to take his picture with "Paws" the Tiger mascot. One of the most important shots and my camera lens was in manual, and I didn't have time to focus, so a blurry shot. But, to my father it was great! I'll need to remember to keep the lens in automatic on days like these!

My sister and I took him to lunch today at his favorite restaurant, and tomorrow we will celebrate with my mother. He is feeling the love....and he should for all he has sacrificed for his family!

Dad, I am so grateful for you..........thank you for being you! Happy Birthday!!

They actually like it.......

Maybe it is their kindness....but every time I ask someone if I can take their picture, they seem to be happy to oblige and like seeing what I have captured.

A few weeks ago I went over to my best friend's house and downloaded PowerPoint, Excel and Word on their computer so I could teach her son PowerPoint. I brought my camera with me so I could take some pics of he and his puppy (a labradoodle), and show him how to add pics into his PowerPoint slides.

Well, not only did he have an interest in learning that program, but he and his sis took an interest in my camera and wanted to give it a try. I would be lying if I didn't admit I was a little nervous, but I took time to explain how to use it and why not to run with it, touch the lenses....etc.....

Well, they did great. The first three are ones I captured, the rest are from them. I don't think they did bad at all. When I got home, there were tons of a certain someones kitty too {a girl after my own heart :) } on my memory card.

"C" and "B"

"B" was a fast learner and had a presentation completed by the time I left!

There is just something about.....

...............pictures of flower buds before they bloom!!
I don't know why, but I love to take pics of the buds before they pop open. I look at the pics I take and I am drawn to the buds. Maybe it's because the unknown wonder of the beauty they have yet to unfold. Maybe......just........maybe that is why!
