He's growing up too fast :(

I just love this picture my son took. He was helping me move my Mom from one nursing home to another this past summer, and he took this in the big side mirror to the U-haul van. The reason for this post is not because of his amateur photography, though I think he's into something!! It is rather to reflect that he is growing up too fast. He was recently asked to this years prom from a senior girl. Help....he's just 14 (early for his grade, 9th)! He is so excited to be asked, especially by a senior!! He is on cloud nine! I am reluctantly letting him go. I figure I have to trust that my husband and I have instilled the knowledge of right and wrong, and making proper choices to him by now. He was baptised this past summer, and I know he has a moral thermometer! Just a little nervous letting go I guess.........

If they would just stay like this a little longer........

My Hero...he is one amazing Dad!!!

I don't want to slight my father. Without him I doubt I would have been able to accomplish as much in my life so easily. He unselfishly worked hard to put my brother, sister and I through school. He also put my brother through dental school and helped each of us put a nice down payment on our homes; as well as a vehicle to start off with. His response to our constant thank you is.."that is just what a parent does for their kids". Oh, if it were only so easy.....

This my mother's sorority photo at Toledo University. There is where she started to really give and be involved with others. She is so beautiful inside and out!!

Those were the days :)

This is my favorite picture of my parents. My mothers Alzheimer's has now progressed to where she has a hard time remembering us. She does get a smile on her face when she sees us but, struggles to connect us to her. The saddest part is when she asks, "Is that my husband?". After 54 years of marriage, I feel so bad for my father but he keeps his chin up and still visits her everyday. That is true love to me!! I just wish she didn't get that awful disease. She is such a loving and giving person. At least that spirit of her will never fade away. This is to you Mom.....I love you!!

He is so handome!!

I am so blessed, my son amazes me everyday. He is often volunteering for the Niles Senior Center and has helped carry gifts to families for The Salvation Army. He unselfishly did this during his winter break. He gets fantastic grades and has dreams to be a plastic surgeon =) How did I get soooo lucky?
