Favorite subjects.........

Yesterday, as soon as I got home from work I grabbed my camera and wanted to get some outdoor photos. I took my favorite subject and he happily obliged because he loves taking the cats outside to explore. I just bought a polarized lens filter because my outdoor/natural light shots were so washed out. It helped a little, but nothing like a good editor. I liked these few the best.

My half...

Here is a picture of my better half. Who, come to think of it, makes me a better person. People say that the first 7 years of marriage are the hardest, most frustrating times. I would be lying if I said we always had smooth sailing. We were two totally different people with very different backgrounds and upbringings. But, we have weathered some storms and have become all that much better from them. I had full intentions of trying to get this posted on Valentine's day but had class all day and wanted to enjoy the evening with my guy! In fact, a little while ago, I wrote a poem just for him. He's not the mushy type, but I think he appreciated it. I'll share it with you too! Now bear with me, this is the third poem I've ever written..........just keep that in mind!

Changing Love
to my one and only Jim,

Eager to learn each other, inside and out.

We start our journey with each other.

As we set in our ways, through time as our guide,we learn more and more from each other.

Life will throw us hardships, challenges and temptations.

We will learn a great deal more of who we are,and what we still must become.

It is never as we wish it to be, but what we learn and how we grow, makes it all the worth while.

From you I have learned to appreciate the small things,as I have become to realize that is the most important.

As time passes we add a life to the world.

We struggle to mold, shape and teach this little person what is right in this world.

We learn that if they are happy and good to others, that is the best we can hope for.

To look back, I realize this was meant to be, a reason, and a purpose we found our love.

We would not become who we are today, if we didn't enter into this life of ever changing love.

Finally...warmer weather

It hit 64 degrees today and I finally felt comfortable enough to take the new camera outside. I captured a few of my hubby and son. Now I realize more than ever the need for Photoshop. They all seemed so washed out. I tried the photo editing software that came with my laptop, but it seemed to make them worse after all my clicking and adjusting. Oh well, it was nice to be outside anyway!

300 or more......

I have taken hundreds of pictures of the cats and never seem to get bored. Here is another one of my practice shots. I love this one of Jade. I can't wait until the weather is warmer so I can get outside and snap some variety. Not that I mind the cats, but I think variation would be better!

Did you know????

I found this on the pastor of GCC's blog and thought it was filled with some great information, so I borrowed to share too!

So, watch this..........

Hang time.....

The best purchase ever made was a camera for my son. He takes it with him everywhere and captures the fun shared with friends as they are.........just spending "hang time" with each other. He has been close to the two girls that are on the outer edges of the photo since first grade. They have stayed true to one another and have such fun together. They have made videos for You Tube that are hilarious....dancing to a song called "Stanky Leg". Bizarre name for a song! They are there for him when he's down, share his joy when he is elated and silly along with him in his goofiness. The best of all..........they attend church together and make a point to get a group together to go and have dinner in a nice restaurant afterword. I couldn't ask for more than that........feet pointed in the right direction and positive influences surrounding him.

Here are a few photos I liked and thought I'd share them with you. Such beautiful girls, and I am referring to the inner beauty, but blessed with both inner and outer.

Sophie had a big date with her boyfriend and he was happy to capture pictures for her to freeze the memories!
So, I am hoping his junior and senior years go just as good as this year for him!
